HUD’s Regional Administrators

by admin

Overseeing the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s strategies and goals is a big job. In order to manage the details more effectively, HUD divides the country into regions, each of which is appointed a regional administrator. Regional administrators are responsible for day-to-day HUD operations as they relate to their respective areas. They ensure that HUD programs are carried out efficiently, and that HUD clients can get answers to their questions. Earlier this year, HUD announced the appointment of several new regional administrators.

Antonio Riley has been named the new Midwest Regional Administrator. Prior to this appointment, Riley was the Executive Director for the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA). Under his leadership, the WHEDA developed new strategies to make employment and home ownership more available, and rehabilitate dilapidated neighborhoods.

The new Great Plains Regional Administrator is Derrith Watchman-Moore. As the Chief Operating Officer for the Navajo Housing Authority, Derrith managed both the construction and maintenance of 8000 housing units. She also worked to improve planning and development processes, making developments more environmentally-friendly and energy-efficient.

He made use of professional development (PD) to give teachers common goals as the first step to create his vision of a family atmosphere where administrators, teachers, and students support each other and pull together.
